Woodwind artist and multi-instrumentalist, Alden Banta, has played woodwinds for classical, jazz, film and television music genres. His work can be heard on numerous TV shows, Broadway Cast Albums, Pop music and Jazz records from his native New Orleans to New York City. As a bassoonist, he has performed in the finest Concert Halls in NYC with many of the premier ensembles in New York. For 30 years, Alden has been making bassoon reeds and has recently embarked on a new journey to share his expertise by offering these hand made bassoon reeds for purchase. His craftsmanship has also led him to create a useful and elegant accessory called the “Banta Box” which is used by over 200 musicians throughout the United States. In addition, Alden teaches privately and has enjoyed guiding many students through their own musical accomplishments.
